I recently finished reading the first two books in Patrick Rothfuss’s The Kingkiller Chronicle trilogy, and I absolutely loved them. I’m enamored with Kvothe, the protagonist, and the autobiographical manner in which his story is told. I tore through the each book in a matter of days, and I cannot wait until the third and final installment is released.
Currently, however, I’m working my way through The Lies of Locke Lamora, the first in the Gentlemen Bastards series by Scott Lynch. The story gripped me immediately, and while I’ve found a couple passages that I think could have benefitted from shaving down some of the description to pick up the pace, overall I’m very much enjoying it, and have torn my way through half the novel in only a couple days.
